Snikiddy

If you’re a mom like me with young children you probably are lucky enough often be given wonderful artwork from your children. It has become our “thing” that my oldest daughter brings me her artwork and I have a wall right beside my desk where I hang them. Every so often, probably about once a week, I am asked to evaluate which ones are my new favorites. This wall is truly my inspiration. My wall is now almost full. As the school year comes to an end Sunny and I have decided that we will soon clear the wall, leaving only our favorite few, and make room for all the wonderful art she will start to bring me next school year. (Pictures below show off Sunny’s wall) The pride with which Sunny has brought masterpieces to me is such a delight to see. It has become our ritual. I look forward to the day when I can show her children all the beautiful work she gave me. Since this tradition began my youngest daughter started to take part as well. My “rule” is the work must be authentic (i.e. made with very little adult guidance). It is finally at this point in Sadie’s life (our youngest daughter) that she too can take part in the tradition. (Her wall of artwork is a bit smaller, but growing quickly, picture featured below)

These walls of inspiration were the reason we decided to run one of our most recent contests in conjunction with Clementine Art. We asked parents to submit pictures of their children’s artwork and the response was astounding. We put together a power point showing many of the submissions. Enjoy the show.

My children are all grown but I am enjoying the treasures from my grandchildren.
