Spring Cleaning

Spring is just around the corner.  This time of year is a perfect opportunity to join with your parents, grab a trashbag and a recycle container, and head out to a local park for some “spring cleaning”.  Once at the park, take a long walk with your parents and enjoy the great outdoors while helping mother nature by picking up any trash that was left behind.  You will not only be helping the environment and all the friendly animals that inhabit it, but children like yourselves.  Everyone loves a safe, clean park to play in!

Activity of the Week

Plant a Tree
Ask your parents to help you find a tree seedling.

Materials:

Tree seedling
Wood chips/mulch


Directions:

Dig a hole bigger than the seedlings roots.
Pour water into the hole to give your tree an extra drink on its first day.
Set the tree in the hole and cover its roots with soil, filling the hole and packing the dirt around it as you go.
